Everyone is connected in some way and together we form a shape: a community or a territory. Each element in the garland represents a point of intersection in different configurations of love. I use felt to achieve a feeling of softness, fragility and yet relative resistance to injury. The threads represent strong connections, the stitches are the route maps of the experiences we inherit from each other. Holes as junctions symbolise moments of invigorating emptiness – when you step out of your self-containment and meet someone or something. These are precisely the points where a little air permeates life. Love, as I understand it, embeds you in reality.
